Eleven tracks of mess, back down to one.
RETRACK reads every clip, works out the lowest track it can sit on
without hiding anything, and moves it there.
One press, and one undo.
Free for video Nothing is deleted Two machines Works offline
- Packing video is free, for good
- RETRACK + adds audio, Safe mode, selections, locked tracks
- Every update, for as long as it exists
- Two computers on one key
- 7 days to send it back
The paid options are in the free panel from the start, greyed out. A key opens them; nothing is reinstalled.
Watch it happen
Sixty seconds: a stacked timeline, the plan the panel writes before it touches anything, one press, and one undo putting it all back.
Free, and it stays free
Pack the picture, in one press.
One press
Every clip drops to the lowest track that will hold it. Nothing ever moves up, nothing changes length, and one undo puts the timeline back exactly as it was.
Look before you move
Analyze first. RETRACK shows the plan - how many clips move, how many tracks you get back, and every clip that would end up underneath another one. Then you press Move, or you do not.
Empty tracks, named
After a run it tells you which tracks are now empty, in the timeline’s own numbers, so Premiere’s own Delete Tracks clears them in two clicks. No panel can delete a track; naming them is the half that can be built, and the half that gets forgotten.
It only moves clips
RETRACK changes which track a clip sits on. It never trims one, never deletes one, and never touches a setting inside one.
RETRACK +
The four things a key opens.
Audio as well
Pack audio tracks, or pack video and audio in the same run. Audio is never laid over audio.
Safe mode, in two strengths
Nothing gets buried under a clip you can see through - a fade, a blend mode, a scaled-down insert, a title, an adjustment layer or a PNG. RETRACK reads each clip and refuses the move instead. Safe protects the clip; Safe + protects the whole track it sits on.
Selected, or everything
Pack only the clips you picked on the timeline, or everything on a video track including adjustment layers. The free panel packs video clips.
Keep tracks
Name the tracks RETRACK must leave alone. Nothing moves off them, and nothing lands on them.
How careful do you want it
Fast, Safe, or Safe +.
One clip with a blend mode on it is a clip you can see through, and a clip you can see through is one that must not have anything pushed underneath it. You choose how far that goes.
Fast - free
Everything drops as low as it will go. The right choice for rushes, interviews, multicam - anything not yet graded.
Safe - RETRACK +
A clip carrying an effect stays on its own track. The ordinary clips beside it still pack down past it, so you get the tracks back and keep the look.
Safe + - RETRACK +
One clip with an effect and that whole track stays exactly as it is. For a graded or composited track you would rather nobody touched, including RETRACK. The plan names the track and the clip that caused it.
You see it before it happens
Whichever you pick, Analyze writes the plan out first - every clip that will not move, and why. Nothing has happened to your timeline yet.
Try it first. That is what the free half is for.
- Download the .ccx and double-click it. Creative Cloud installs it.
- Open RETRACK from Window → Extensions and pack a timeline.
- Buy a key if you want audio, Safe mode, selections or locked tracks. Paste it once.
